What Is A Blog?
Before getting into the nitty gritty, it’s only appropriate to answer the question by giving a brief description of a blog. A “web log” or “blog” as we know it is a form of website that allows for a “blogger” to publish regular hyperlinks, images, articles and any other type of information deemed necessary called a “blog post.”
So how is this any different to a regular website you ask? While a website typically has a home page which links to various sub-pages within the site such as “about us,” “our services” and “contact us,” a blog is so much simpler in that it is usually made up of a single page of entries. Moreover, a blog are often from a single author and arranged in reverse chronology with the most recent entry appearing at the top of the page.
Many a blog may be more personal while others focus on a particular subject such as sport, technology, or entertainment. Still others may simply present links to all types of other websites. Let’s say you are a photographer then you should start a photography blog which you can use to post your photos as well as tackle photography topics and even offer tips. You’ll also be able to view comments from users of your blog as this feature is offered unlike with a website. Not only does this make it interactive but it also allows users to leave tips, impressions, and feedback which you can then use to create suitable content for your blog. The great thing about a blog is that the possibilities are endless.
Now that we’ve got the basics covered, here are a few tips to help you on your blogging journey
• Use visuals such as photos or videos to capture attention
• Bold keywords so that information can be found easier
• Use bullet points for lists
• Use paragraphs to break up posts, no one wants to read an endless stream of information.
• Post about things you know and love
• Have fun
