Website design vs Website development
You are a business owner and interested in getting a website, but all this talk about website design and website development is confusing you. Then this article is for you. I will explain the difference between website design and website development.
Website design refers to the usability and aesthetic part of the website. A web designer will design the layout of the website using a design program like Adobe Photoshop. This design will incorporate your logo, style, fonts and colours to associate with your business.
This will be a flat image of what your website will look like. This website design will be sent to you to be signed off by you after all the changes were made to suite your specific needs.
Now the website development starts. This design or image will be sent to the web developer that will turn this flat image into a website using code. This code will either be HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, asp and the list goes on. The code will depend on your specific needs. This code is what the webserver will read and is displayed in your browser. In other words this will be the end product.
Do you see the difference between the website design and the website development? They complement one another. The one cannot exist without the other.
I hope this article helped you to see the difference between website design and website development. They need each other, but they are definitely not the same thing.
